TO THE STRAND
It’s the very first time that my sister Iris and I visited Boracay. It’s a surprisingly beautiful place and where we stayed, The Strand, is also full of surprises…nice ones!
Surprise 1 - When we arrived in Boracay, after the drive from the main road, we were led to this tiny, little humble dirt road without much to see on the sides. Suddenly, we stopped at the door way which leads to this lavish green, well groomed landscape with charming white apartments shining under the sun.
Surprise 2 - Friendly helpful Dane and Mar who are always polite and wear a smile whenever we see them.
Surprise 3 - We’ve got upgraded to an even nicer and bigger apartment! Really didn’t expect that. They just did it without we having to ask.
Surprise 4 - Home made breakfast, different choices everyday. It makes a difference to the usual mass production breakfast buffet most hotels and resorts provide. My hard boiled egg has it’s very own little cute basket in where it sits comfortably still and stays warm!
Surprise 5 - One morning when Iris and I were about to have our breakie, a gorgeous, sexy and yet friendly and lovable young city gal from manila with slightly wary brown hair dropped by to say ‘HI’ to us. She’s adorable and doesn’t mind giving wet kisses! Pinky, thanks for sharing your lovely city gal, Guapa with us. Guapa, thanks for sharing your toy rubber duckie with us!
Surprise 6 - The very private, peaceful powdery white beach which is just 2 minutes walk from here. Iris and I can enjoy the sun and the sea without having to deal with the hustling and bustling of both tourists and vendors. This is the huge added value to us. Since we’re from the crazily busy city of Hongkong. We don’t want to deal with people and the crowd again in our vacation unnecessarily (thanks Iris for the spelling, hahaha….forget to spell suddenly). On this part of White Beach, we have our personal space and peace of mind.
We enjoyed our stay at the Strand very much. Thank you and a big round of applause to Pinky and the staff! The Strand is the hidden gem in the Boracay Paradise!
